RHOMBIC ANTENNA
You know......Thereare different types of antennas like  V antenna, INVERTED V antenna, RHOMBIC antenna, HELICAL antenna, LONG WIRE antennas, TRAVELLING WAVE antennas etc.....One of most popular one is the RHOMBIC antenna. Now we can briefly study about this antenna.

PATTERNS
It is constructed with two inverted v antennas or two v antenna at obtuse angles. It is the most commonly used antenna in most of the radio communications part if it has sufficient place to install it. It is used in point to point communication. The total gain of the antenna is based on the axis that is from feeding point to terminating resistance.  If the impedance is equal to the total characteristic impedance , then the gain will be more. At the terminating resistor  half of the power will be completely dissipated where the remaining is radiated. The resistance of the terminating resistance should be in between 600-800 ohms. But we cannot use wire wound resistance in this case, because wire wound resistance is highly inductive in nature...but we need resistance with zero inductance and slight capacitance. So we use open wire feeder which offers 600 ohms. The radiation pattern is uni directional in nature. If we want to change it to bi directional we need to remove terminating resistance. The power disipation at resistance is 35-50% , its directvity is 20-90 and its power gain is 50-60. we can design te rhombic antenna also. This is about rhombic antenna.
